Corngrass

Plants are short with thin grassy leaves. Reproductive structures are transformed and plants are sterile. Plants are highly tillered and appear similar to forage grasses (Neuffer, Coe, and Wessler, 1997).

View of whole plant, a clump of grassy forage in soil with other plants spaced around it.
Young plant.
The older plant is a taller, full bunch of grassy leaves, and some leaves at the bottom of plant are tinged with yellow-brown.
Older plant about 3 feet tall; note "normal" plants along side of picture.
Close-up of the base of the plant shows strong, knobby stalks coming out of the ground.
Tillers.
Close-up of the top of the plant shows ends of grass leaves, missing the usual reproductive structures.
Tips of stems where reproductive structures should be located; no sexual parts visible.
