Barren Inflorescence

Spiklets (flowers) are missing in large patches on ear. Ears produce few kernels. Tassel branching is reduced and tassel produces few spikelets.(Neuffer, Coe, and Wessler, 1997).

Immature ear is partially unshucked to show green, few lumpy kernels, and wiry silks sticking out.
